UPDATE
- HH-65 HELICOPTER UPGRADE
STRENGTHENING THE SHIELD OF FREEDOM.
The U.S. Coast Guard’s mission is changing. And the equipment is changing
too. Deepwater is making it happen. Just one example is the HH-65 multi-mission
helicopter. By installing more powerful engines, modifying the airframe and modernizing
the cockpit, the Deepwater program is transforming the workhorse of the Coast
Guard into the HH-65C. Making it possible for operators to fly longer and further.
More safely and more reliably. Already saving lives and giving the Coast Guard
the tools to do what they do best. Only better. HH-65C. One more way Deepwater
is building a stronger Coast Guard. |

UPDATE
- NATIONAL
SECURITY CUTTER
STRENGTHENING THE SHIELD
OF FREEDOM.
The U.S. Coast Guard is America’s Guardian. First responder for maritime
commerce, natural disasters and homeland security challenges. Deepwater is changing
the face of the U.S. Coast Guard. Building the tools it needs now to do what
it does best–only better and faster. The Deepwater program is surging forward
and building the first two hulls of the newest multimission cutter in the Deepwater
fleet. The centerpiece of the Coast Guard’s Deepwater acquisition program,
this ship will be the most technically advanced class of cutter in existence.
And part of a larger effort that includes putting advanced command, control and
communications systems on Coast Guard cutters today, building new maritime patrol
aircraft, and updating helicopters with stronger power systems. So that the Coast
Guard will continue to be ready to protect and serve the American people. Always. |

WOULD YOU RATHER INTERCEPT A DIRTY BOMB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN OR IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR CITY?
Our ports are a vital part of our critical infrastructure. They must be kept safe. How? By stopping threats before they arrive on our shores. The answer: Deepwater. The Coast Guard is our first line of defense for homeland security. But to do its job, the Coast Guard needs new capabilities and better tools. With already demanding operations and new missions being added, the stakes are higher than ever. Deepwater is providing the Coast Guard with the tools needed to meet the homeland security challenges of the 21st century. Helping to push out our borders and strengthen the shield of freedom. The U.S. Coast Guard and Deepwater: making sure America is ready for anything. |

STRENGTHENING THE SHIELD OF FREEDOM.
Under the Deepwater program the U.S. Coast Guard is rebuilding. New ships and aircraft are being built. Helicopters are being renovated. Innovative command and control systems are improving the missions of America’s first responders for homeland security. And another Deepwater team is hard at work. But they aren’t cutting steel. Or welding components into place. They’re creating the network-centric systems that will bind the individual ships and aircraft of the Deepwater fleet into a single, effective force. Their ‘factory’ is the Maritime Domain Awareness Center. Designed and built for Deepwater, MDAC is 46,000 square feet of innovation staffed by seasoned professionals dedicated to the development, testing and integration of the C4ISR tools that will enable the Coast Guard to respond swiftly and decisively to maritime security threats. MDAC. Another solid step toward the U.S. Coast Guard of tomorrow. |
