VISAKHAPATNAM: A few days after the dramatic episode of a woman, believed to have been swept into the sea at RK Beach and later found safe, the Coast Guard requested the Visakhapatnam District Administration to provide a “ positive confirmation” before requesting his services for any research operation.

It is remembered that a complaint was filed by a certain Srinivasa Rao, stating that his wife Sai Priya could have been swept away by the sea. A massive search was launched by the coast guard and after two days it appeared that the woman was actually gone with her friend without informing her husband.

Following this, the Deputy Commander Coastguard (District Operations and Plans Officer) DPVA Trinadh sent a letter to the Visakhapatnam Police, Collector and Greater Visakhapatnam, demanding strict action against the perpetrators of the incident.

“On July 25, an ICG vessel in the area was diverted to undertake a search operation near the coast near RK Beach. On July 26, another ICG vessel and a helicopter were deployed for the “operation to search for a missing person. The operation continued until July 27 with three ICG ships and a helicopter,” the deputy commander said. He said the deployment of assets from the ICG embraces huge financial implications and pernicious waste of working hours and demanded strict measures against the accused.
