HURON, Ohio (WJW) – Search and rescue teams will return to the water at dawn to locate a missing boater on Wednesday morning.
At around 10 p.m. Tuesday, the US Coast Guard told FOX 8 that two boats had collided at Cranberry Creek in Huron.
The person who alerted the emergency teams saved 3 of these people from the water.
One person did not respond, according to the Coast Guard, and later died.
The two survivors were taken to hospital.
Several boats and a Huron Coast Guard and Fire Department helicopter searched the water for a fourth person who was thrown from one of the boats.
This research was suspended overnight.
The crews resumed the search around 7 a.m.
None of the people involved have been identified.
An investigation is underway into the causes of the accident.
